Baldur's Gate is an adventure game for the computer which very closely sticks to the Dungeons & Dragons rules in terms of game mechanics. It also includes many of the D&D magic items, including the infamous Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity. (Click the image to the left for the item description taken from the game.) The girdle makes an appearance in one of the side quests you can go on fairly early in the game. It can't be removed until a Remove Curse spell is cast, and it basically just changes the icon for your character. It doesn't change the larger portrait image or the voice, although it is possible to change the voice selection mid-way through the game manually. (Which also means it's possible to configure a male character to use a female voice and vice-versa.)
